Ghosting

I want to play on the term ‘Ghosting’ (a contemporary term which describes the sudden ending of all communication and avoidance with another person without any warnings) with ghosts of Griffintown, as the area is going through changes where will the ghosts go or live? What hauntings will remain and what memories will the community keep alive?

2 : informal : the act or practice of abruptly cutting off all contact with someone (such as a former romantic partner) usually without explanation by no longer accepting or responding to phone calls, instant messages, etc.

Jacky Lo (羅嘉俊) is a Chinese Canadian artist, researcher, and educator from Vancouver of the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh living in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal, Canada/Turtle Island. In his practice, he examines themes surrounding social connections, memories, and identities. Lo has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Simon Fraser University and is completing his Master’s of Art Education at Concordia University.
His research interest explores the materiality of silk in art creation, production, and history and how it can inform the past, present, and a reimagined future.
